The Balancing Act: Rebuilding, Refusing to Settle, and Finding Joy in the Chaos
If you’ve been following my journey here on the blog, you know that the path isn't always a straight line. Sometimes, it’s a daily hustle. Today, I wanted to take a moment to pause, pull back the curtain, and give you a real, unfiltered update on where I am at right now.
Life at the moment is full. It’s exhausting, it’s beautiful, and it’s a massive balancing act.
The Daily Hustle
Right now, I am working two jobs. My days are packed from start to finish, and when I’m not clocked into work, my focus shifts entirely to making this blog a reality and pouring energy into things that genuinely better myself. Every spare second is dedicated to personal growth and building the future I know I deserve.
It takes a lot of logistics to make this work. Right now, I’m Ubering or Lyfting everywhere I need to go. It’s a temporary hurdle, but it means my current radar is locked onto a few major milestones: saving money, getting my license back, and getting a car. It's about building back that independence, piece by piece.
But looking around, the progress is real. I have my own apartment that I share with a close friend, providing a stable, supportive home base to return to at the end of these long days.
My Biggest "Why"
Through all the rushing between shifts, the core of my world remains my relationship with my daughter. Being present for her is everything to me. Right now, I am so incredibly excited and looking forward to watching her upcoming dance recital. And on the sports side, there is nothing quite like the feeling of watching her out on the softball field, especially when she’s up on the pitcher's mound. Even when my work schedule makes it tough, I cherish every single game I can make it to. She is my constant reminder of why I’m working this hard.
Holding Out for the Right Things
Living a life of transformation means being honest about the hard parts, too. Yes, I get lonely. Yes, I would love to be in a relationship again and have that partnership.
But here is where I stand firm: I refuse to settle for anything less than what I want or what I deserve. With two jobs and a life to rebuild, my time is incredibly limited and highly valuable. If someone is going to be a part of my life, they have to add peace and value to it, not complications. Until then, my time belongs to my goals, my financial freedom, and my daughter.
The Road Ahead
Getting your life back together doesn’t happen overnight. It’s built in the early mornings, the late night rides, the budgeting, and the conscious choice to keep choosing yourself. I am a work in progress, but I am moving forward every single day.
Thank you for being on this road with me. To anyone else out there grinding through the transition phase: keep your head up. We’ve got this.
